Government Programs

The federal government and some state governments provide resources aimed at educating the public about vehicle pollution, public transportation, efficient vehicles, community planning, and many other environmental subjects.  There are also various financial incentives offered to individuals and firms that make environmental choices, such as cash rebates in California for buying green vehicles.

American Road and Transportation Builders Association

The ARTBA is an aggressive and effective advocate on behalf of the U.S. transportation design and construction industry before the Congress, White House, Executive Branch and federal agencies. The association's member firms, organizations and public agencies most often cite the association's stellar track record in growing the federal transportation construction market as a primary reason for their membership. The ARTBA has been influential in the passing of every major transportation bill in Congress since its inception the the late 1990's.

Biofuel Station Initiative Program

The objective of The Biofuel Station Initiative: Driving Energy Independence for the Empire State is to increase the number of retail E85 and blended biodiesel (biofuels) service stations in New York State. This program solicits applications for funds to purchase and install equipment to store and dispense biofuels at retail gas stations.

Clean Vehicle Rebate Project

The Clean Vehicle Rebate Project benefits the citizens of California by providing rebates of up to $5,000 per light-duty vehicle for individuals and business owners who purchase or lease new eligible zero-emission or plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. Certain zero-emission commercial vehicles are eligible for rebates up to $20,000.

New York City Private Fleet Program

The New York City Private Fleet Alternative-Fuel /Electric Vehicle Program helps private sector companies and non-profit entities operating vehicles within the five boroughs of New York City to acquire alternative fuel vehicles.

The Smoking Vehicle Assistance Program was established by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District to get smoking vehicles off the road.
