Hydrogen Fuel Injection (HFI)

Hydrogen fuel injection, or HFI systems are quickly growing in popularity. HFI systems use electricity from the vehicle alternator to process water into HHO, a mixture of pure hydrogen and oxygen gas. This process is called electrolysis. The mixture is then fed into the intake air, where it is burned along with gasoline.

Before current HFI systems, that actually produced the hydrogen through electrolysis became available, these systems required the user to store pure hydrogen on-board their as a second fuel. That was extremely dangerous. You see, hydrogen is the most flammable gas on the periodic table, and can be ignited by the tiniest spark. By storing the hydrogen in the form of water, that hazard has been taken out of the equation.

The reason HFI systems claim to be so effective is because hydrogen burns much more efficiently than gasoline on its own. When hydrogen is burned along with your vehicles gasoline, it allows your gasoline to burn more efficiently and completely. This increases your MPG and engine power while decreasing vehicle emissions. Seems like a pretty good deal, huh?

While testing has shown an increase in fuel efficiency in standard automobiles, it has been proven to be more effective in diesel engines. This makes fleet vehicles, such as long-distance 18-wheelers, prime candidates for this technology. Sherwin Fast, President of Great Plains Trucking had this to say, “We're saving $700 a month per truck on fuel”, after installing HFI systems on 4 of his trucks. With over 55 trucks in the company, Great Plains Trucking could save up to $38,500 per month if they install these systems on all their trucks. That’s big money.

Increasing fuel economy while decreasing emissions sounds like a win-win situation to us.

Check out the HFI systems below, and please let us know how they have worked for you! We’re very interested.
